Diabetes

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

I regularly read Scott Hanselman’s blog Computer Zen. Scott for the most part sticks to technical stuff but on occasion he will post about his family or his ongoing struggle with Type I Diabetes. As software developers are often apt to do, Scott came up with an analogy of what it is like dealing with Diabetes. He calls it the Airplane Analogy. I have a relative who is a Diabetic and so I thought I would share Scott’s insight and his amazon book list for Diabetes.

Another birthday bites the dust…

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

A couple of weeks ago my I left my 29th birthday in the dust. I had a great time. My in-laws took me to out to eat and then  we came back to the house to have cheese cake with the extended family. I also went to the OU game against Middle Tennessee State.

My parent’s sent me a box of nectarines from Harry and David.  Amber and I couldn’t help ourselves. After I ate the first one the day after my birthday we each had two-a-day until they were gone. Colin didn’t really care for them, but that is to be expected as he is a picky eater.

Thank you everyone who called, sent cards, etc.
