We have a 5 year old in the house! I can’t believe it’s been five whole years + some. I look back at old photos and it’s amazing the difference a year or two makes in my little guy’s life and looks.
Colin I know I always say this and I’ll say it again and again, I can’t believe how fast the year has flown by. You are growing leaps and bounds and I always enjoy the funny things you say like “When I get older, I’ll drink coffee. Like when I’m 15.” (1/28/09) Or the smart and thoughtful insight you have such as when daddy asked you what jealous means and you said, “Jealous makes you feel not good.” ( 2/26/09) I wish I would have written more of these things down but I sure am going to try this year. You still say the “f” sound for “th”. Like when you count: twenty-nine, firty. firty-one, firty-two, firty-free.
This is so adorable. I love it.
You’re expanding your repertoire of food choices and have branched out to hot dogs (with the ends cut off [like your mama] and no bun). You gag less when we make you eat casseroles. You love raw veggies just like Daddy and donuts, like Mommy. It’s really the best of both worlds. You are starting to enjoy helping me around the house with vacuuming and helping unload the dishwasher. You’re also a good little helper when it comes to baking goodies.
The week before your birthday you discovered a loose tooth. Mommy ended up pulling it on February 5th. It came out with ease and the tooth fairy left you a dollar.
We have tons of fun playing chase outside and hide-n-go-seek inside. You still enjoy Max and Ruby and love to play video games. Today I watched you do yoga on my Wii fit board. You were showing me new stretches and poses. Legos have entered our world in a big way and you have several Star Wars lego sets. You are a huge star wars fan and chose that for your birthday theme
Here are some photos of the birthday boy from January.

Colin you are truly a joy and my sunshine. I enjoy our snuggle time each night as you tell me your favorite parts of the day along with your least favorite. Topping the list of faves include school, spending time with family, a wonderful dinner, playing games, and seeing friends to name a few. I love you little guy and look forward to seeing what the year holds for you.
love,
Mommy-o
