I’ve been bouncing around lately reading a couple of different books, perusing blogs and listening to new music! Here’s a few things that have piqued my interest that might be of interest to you…
If you are looking to release some weight (aren’t we all?) I recommend the book Thin Within. It’s a biblical grace-oriented approach to weight loss. This is a scripture heavy book and less on the technical side. So if those two things would turn you off then this book is not for you. It’s more about eating when you are hungry on a scale of 0(empty)-10(stuffed) you eat when you reach a 0 and stop when you are at a 5 (comfortable/satisfied). I had a light bulb moment today when I was reading that I usually don’t stop until I’m at a 7 or 8. This is something I’m going to work on. I’ve noticed that my weight hasn’t really budged much since I’ve been running. Granted, I took off 2-2 1/2 months but I’m just sitting on a plateau. One thing I learned today while reading Day 6 is that I’ve become a slave to the scale. I really think it’s become an idol for me. So I’m going to pack it up in my closet and not weigh myself until February. Dear readers, is there something that you have become a slave to in your quest for a healthier lifestyle? The thing that we become a slave to can be what is truly hindering us in our journey. So this is one change I can make in my life for a happier healthier 2010!
