IN THE LAST WEEK:

I’ve visited a new farmer’s market and made a fresh from the farm dinner complete w/organic chicken. Even the kids chowed down!

I’ve tried a new smoothie recipe which I’ll post at a later time.

I’m trying to clean up my diet. And when I say diet I mean the way I eat. For example, more fresh fruit and veggies. Less crap!

Trying new recipes from Clean Food like the tomato/cucumber salad above and Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels like the spinach & egg breakfast burrito below. However trying to find Ezekiel brand tortillas ain’t happenin’ so I got flour {gasp}.

And just as a side note, I’ve been taking the kids swimming a LOT! A crazy thought entered my mind the other day…I wondered what it would be like to do a triathalon. CRA-ZAY! I know. But my thoughts were you swim, bike and run 5K. So when I hopped in the pool the other day I thought I’d try some laps just to see what it might be like. After my first full lap (there and back) I was spent! I have a whole new respect for those who do it.  I’ve also come to the realization that I am way more out of shape than I realized. {sigh} I’ve got a long way to go. I want to do a 5k in the fall and I want to run faster than my last two races. I had people who walked faster than I jogged passing me in the Red Bud so it’s time to step up and push myself. I’ve been coasting this whole time.

    so proud of you! and your meals look delicious! i am also aiming for a 5k in the fall. my first one ever! i better get to running, but it’s so HOT!
