I have a new favorite blog: Shutter Sisters. If you know me (and some of you do), then you know I am very passionate about photography and pictures. I’ve let a lot of my creativity go by the way side since having a wee one, but I’m really ready to explore something that really excites me. Putting fear and awkwardness aside, I decided to participate in the superhero photo challenge. {At least for this week} I’m hoping to commit to doing something creative with my photography on a weekly basis to expand my knowledge, skills and overall enjoyment.
So the challenge is this: To find a face in an unlikely place. Andrea writes I also really like the metaphor of it, the idea that we find what we put our attention on, or that the world is a manifestation of our thoughts. If you are looking for the bad and the ugly, you will surely find it. If you are looking for beauty you will find that too.
I wasn’t going to participate because lately I haven’t really been able to focus on much of anything. I had thought I made my mind up yesterday to just wait and see what the next challenge was and then I woke up this morning. As I was getting ready for a meeting, I noticed a piece of toilet tissue on the bathroom floor that had failed to make itself into the trash can it was sitting next to. I had used the tp to sharpen and clean my eye pencil. Lo and behold my trash was smiling back at me! Can it get any better than this?
